Wonderful. Got another 2,000 this morning, crossing the 10K mark. Nailing down a guiding central question (conflict) for my protagonist helped, and keeping the yearning/wound in mind has also helped a lot in focusing characterization (dialog, thought, action, etc.). (Sadly, my protagonist will, literally, kill who she thinks is her antagonist.)
I am so behind in my writing ( only 1357 words, full of incoherence text ) and I really wished I had seen this much sooner. Super helpful and motivational!
I think you can definitely have more than one! I would just keep playing for now and see how each affects your protagonist differently. I'm sure they will sort themselves out with each revision!
It feels odd to just drop a word count and run—hope you can tell that I am super grateful for the really good prompts (I’m asking my characters things I need to ask myself!) and the accountability, most of all. Knowing I HAVE to do this is…a gift.
I’ve deduced that each of my handwritten pages runs about 350 words. Today, I managed 2.5 pages, and I’m really proud of that, especially considering the night I had. I was in pain and couldn’t sleep, and when I finally drifted off, it was 4am. Which, of course, meant I slept through my planned 5am start.
Feed my starter. Brew coffee. Write. That’s the rhythm that usually carries me into the rest of my day. The workouts, my shower, all the other things that make up the other person who inhabits this writer’s body.
But despite waking late, I still got my writing in.
And the best part? I couldn’t wait to get to the page. That’s such an electric feeling.
11,000 total - 1000 this morning thanks for everyone who put this together such great teaching and community support!
Holy cow, that number is impressive! Good for you!
Woah! 11,000!!! You’ll have a draft by the end of the week!
Only a thousand this morning though that was my error not being clear.
Still great!
Hyped af right now! Haha

Hell yeah!

I'm glad it was helpful! Just keep going and don't worry so much about being "behind." You are getting words down every day, which matters the most!
Great prompts, thank you !!
Glad you like them!
Can the antagonist be multiple people? I worry that if I have too many, the reader won’t care about them.

Thanks! 1761.
Bravo!
