I'm going to do this! My plan is to post the updates in a new section on my substack and only send out via email once per week (in case any one else was wondering about the logistics of managing this without starting a new substack!).
My book I always wanted to write isn’t fiction. It’s called: The Soul Contract and the Origin of Doubt. How might I follow your prompts? Or I’m wondering if that’s old news and I’m supposed to write something new.
While the language around this challenge will be about novel writing fiction, you can still totally use this space to keep you accountable and to check in with how much you’re writing each day!
You can if you want to! This challenge will give you a guideline and accountability. You can write wherever or however you want. We give you that goal of 50,000 words and a community who’s doing it alongside you :)
We have another post coming out that will help you prepare! And next week we will start the accountability threads so we can all check in with each other on how we are doing.
can't wait for this! finally excited to push past my short story word limits as a chronically minimalist writer
Oooo! Short story into a novel?!
i'm also a chronically minimalist writer (even my short stories never get past 3k) !! we got this!!
lowkey excited and nervous at the same time to participate in this challenge, never done anything like this but definitely looking forward to it🤞🏼
Sometimes it’s the fear that makes us actually write- right? 🫠
I want to write my first part live
Started my prep work for the new novel I want to write. I am so ready!

This sounds great! I’ve been looking for a point to finally just start writing, so this is a great reason to finally stop procrastinating 😅
That’s the idea! 😏
I've never done a challenge like this before, but am looking forward to giving it a shot!
Was planning to start my first draft in November, so this is some excellent motivation! Can't wait!

I am SO stoked for this!
I wrote a novel last year and now I need an "edit this bitch in a month" group. Help. ha
I'm pumped! I posted about this on my blog. https://andrewcareaga.com/2025/10/28/no-more-nanowrimo-no-problem-write-that-novel-anyway/

Is this thread a part of our "prep" work? I'm re-reading "Story Genius" and getting out my index cards.
